Mong'are noted that most of schools in the county perform poorly in national examinations because of poor oversight of the boards.

He alleged that some leaders appoint illiterate members to the boards who can be compromised in the school management.

"Most of our schools register poor performance because there is no strong oversight committee to oversee the business of schools and how public funds are being used. Some leaders appoint illiterate members who cannot oppose their proposals," observed the senator.

He also said development of some schools is derailed because of the same situation, noting that some leaders embezzle public funds by allocating money to ghost projects or projects with un-imaginable estimates.

He called upon Gusii Members of Parliament to look into the issue on the management of CDF kitty, so that development can be realized in their respectful constituencies.

Senator Mong'are asked the MPs to support them in their quest to see more funds trickled down to counties to enhance development.
