Machakos Member of Parliament Victor Munyaka has urged the government to consider professionals in the area for appointments in government.
The MP said the area was being sidelined in terms of appointments.
The MP observed that the county has professionals who can make an impact in terms if appointed to government positions.
Mr Munyaka asked governors in the region to present the names of professionals to the government for future appointments.
“Ukambani has some of the great minds that can make an impact in leadership and development if given a chance,” said the lawmaker during the Machakos professionals meeting on Saturday.
The MP urged professionals to engage in development projects and help provide services to the citizens.
He added that professionals are drivers of the various economic sectors in the country and must let their voice and contribution heard.
During the Ukambani professionals meeting held in Machakos on Saturday, Governor Alfred Mutua urged professionals to partner with government on development.
Mutua said his government was open and ready to work with all professionals.
The governor stated that professionals play a key role in development urging them to be active and help streamline development.
