Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama has defended his Turbo counterpart Elisha Bushienei who is being accused by Taita Taveta Womens Representative Joyce Lai of sexually harassing her.
Lai had made the claim during last week's Japan tour where President Kenyatta was leading a Kenyan delegation. Arama has said that Lai should have followed the proper channel to have the issue addressed rather than going to the media.
"Those are not things for the press. She should have lodged her complains first to the Speaker or perhaps the Powers and Privileges Committee", Arama told journalists in Nakuru town today.
“I do not see anything wrong with Bushienei making an advance to Hon. Lai. Lai is a woman and maybe the only thing that could be bad is if she is married then I will say Bushienei went wrong,” He continued on to say.
Arama was of the opinion that the circumstances under which the said advances were made mattered. This comes in as Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti faces rape charges following allegations that he raped a lady last weekend in his Westlands office.
