Nakuru West MP Samuel Arama has come out to defend political leaders in the county against accusations of being divided on important county matters.
Speaking Tuesday evening at a leader’s forum in Nakuru town, Arama said that disagreeing over a simple matter does not mean that they are divided saying that they are more united than ever.
Arama said that there is a very cordial relationship between members of parliament from the county and the county governor Kinuthia Mbugua.
“People are saying that members of parliament are divided but I want to tell them that we are working as one team and we have no enemity among us. When we agree of a small matter it does not mean that we are divided in anyway. As MP’s we relate very well with governor Mbugua and we are working together for the good of our people,” said Arama.
And while reacting to allegations made by attendants of the forum over the absence of MP’s at different functions Arama said that as members of parliament they have a lot to do and their absence at some functions should not be taken in bad faith.
“It is true that me, and my colleagues have missed to attend several county functions but that is not intentional as you may perceive because we are at times very occupied with parliamentary work and finding time becomes hard, but you need to understand that when you do not see us then we are somewhere working for you," he said.
The forum was organised by pressure groups in the county to discuss about the relationship between county leaders and the electorate.
