His move comes barely a few weeks after Moi primary school in Nakuru called on the government to intervene in getting back their two acre piece of land which has been grabbed by private developers.

Initially Moi primary school owned 13 acres of land and for now has two of its acres grabbed.

Speaking in his constituency on Wednesday while disbursing Sh 4.7 million bursary funds, Arama indicated that all public schools should have a clear demarcation and a fence erected around it to safeguard it.

“We cannot sit and watch as rogue and greed people infiltrate and grab schools ground. I want to tell the land grabbers that it is not an idle land, it is meant to be our children play grounds,” said Arama.

He pointed that, in the coming financial year, his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) will set aside millions of shillings to erect perimeter wall to all public land.

Arama took the initiative after President Uhuru Kenyatta directed Ministry of Land and National Land Commission (NLC) to provide all public schools with title deeds in order to deter grabbers.
