Nakuru West MP Samuel Arama is proposing for former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka and Musalia Mudavadi to team up and face off with President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy in the 2017 general elections.
Arama said that the duo have the best chance to take over the reigns of power in 2017, if they put aside their personal differences and work towards a common goal.
Speaking at Kaptembwo estate on Friday during a meet-the people tour of his constituency, Arama said that Kalonzo should vie for the presidency with Musalia as his deputy, because their candidature will be easily saleable to all Kenyan tribes.
Arama said that the two should consolidate their support in their strongholds and convince former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to support them in 2017.
“Kalonzo is the best candidate to face off with Uhuru in 2017, and I would want to ask the CORD coalition to pick him as their candidate and convince Mudavadi to join them. If Mudavadi can join the CORD brigade, then I don’t see what will stop them from getting to statehouse,” said Arama.
“Raila should rally his support behind the two and campaign for them, because if he decides to vie in 2017 then it will be a big embarrassment to him because his chances of defeating jubilee are very slim,” added Arama.
Arama told the CORD coalition to concentrate of convincing their supporters to take identity cards and register as voters instead of wasting time fighting the jubilee government.
“Instead of us behaving like an enemy to the government, we should be laying down strategies on how we will register as many voters as we can because that it the only way CORD can outsmart the tyranny of numbers,” he said.
