Dagoretti North lawmaker Simba Arati has been the latest leader to hail the newfound reunion between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking on Radio Citizen's 'Debe la Citizen' on Sunday, the leader also lauded their joint pledge to spearhead the anti-corruption and national reconciliation campaigns.
He, however, urged the leaders to stick to their vows and only engage in issues of national importance, vowing to correct them should they veer off the track.
The legislator also warned against any attempts by the leaders' allies to misuse the union, vowing to lead in opposing any attempts by ill minded individuals to exploit the truce.
"Ikiwa Raila ama Uhuru watapotoka Mimi mwenyewe nitawapinga (if either of them misbehaves I will personally correct them)," he said.
"Hatutatishwa na mtu yeyote na tutapiga firimbi na kunyoroshana kisheria kwani hatuwezi nyamaza sababu Raila na Uhuru wamesalimiana (we will confront anyone who tries to misuse the truce as well)," Arati added.
The leaders have since promised to also spearhead a national healing campaign and have constituted a 14 member committee to lend a hand in realizing the same.
The taskforce was recently gazetted to begin its job and is expected to make proposals and solutions to the recurrent post election conflicts.
