Darogetti North MP Simba Arati has appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta to intensify the war on counterfeit products.
He sensationally claimed that the contraband sugar that was found in Eastleigh, Nairobi county belonged to a well known politician.
"Sisi tunajua na tuko na ushahidi kwamba hiyo sukari ni ya mmoja wetu katika bunge (We know and have evidence showing that the sugar belongs to one of us in Parliament)," he said.
According to him, it was totally unfair for politicians to sell expired goods to locals who supported them in the last elections.
Mr Arati asked the Director of Criminal investigations to ensure they reveal who the owners of the companies were.
He also said that he was in support of President Uhuru Kenyatta's declaration on fighting graft.
