Speaking on Radio Citizen's 'Debe la Citizen' on Sunday, Arati maintained that the leader is still fit for the political arena, noting that his services are still needed in the push for a better nation.

Coming at a time when the 73 year old former Prime Minister is being hailed as a statesman as a result of his recent truce and joint cohesion push with President Uhuru Kenyatta, Arati said that the new tittle should not be used to push him out.

"Wale wanaodhani eti amekua mzee na sasa lazima astaafu ili abaki statesman wanakosea...bado ako na uwezo wa kuongoza na sitastaajabika iwapo atauliza tena nafasi ya kuongoza nchi (those thinking that he is aging and can only be a statesman are wrong. His leadership skills are intact and could request for the presidential post again)," said the MP.

He declared support for the Orange party boss should he reignite his ambition for the top seat in the coming contests, noting that what matters is his vision for the country and not age.

"Ata kama ataingia ofisini kwa mwaka mmoja na system zifanye kazi hakuna shida(what matters is his ability to make the national systems function)," he added.

Odinga has, however, since maintained that he currently has no plans to take his fifth stab at the post in the future specifically the approaching 2022 general polls.
