President Uhuru Kenyatta on March 2017 hit out at Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho following heightened political differences that had escalated between the two.
While speaking in Swahili during the re-launch of Mtongwe ferry, Uhuru warned that Joho who had been blocked from attending the event, should not be following him around.
"Akuje aambie watu wa Likoni amewajengea ninimiaka yote hii. Sio akuje tufuatane na yeye hapa, mimi siyo bibi yake (Let him come and tell you the people of Likoni what he has done all these years. He should stop following me around. I am not his wife)".
Kenyatta also warned the ODM deputy party leader that he should stop his attacks against him (Kenyatta) or else he would be taught a lesson.
"He should not play with us or else we will teach him a lesson. Mwambieni asituchezee...sisi ha (tell him not to joke with us... we’ll deal with him)," said Kenyatta who as accompanied by his Deputy William Ruto.
