On April 4, a show dubbed "Little Miss Kenya" took place at Michael Joseph centre in Nairobi.
This beauty pegeant show was organized to select little miss Kenya amongst the many little kids who participated.
I think it is wrong to organize beauty contests for kids, since their brains (and body) are not fully developed, they will not fully understand and appreciate when they win or lose.
Kids will not understand and accept that in every competition there must be a winner and a loser. Kids who lose such beauty contests will grow thinking that they are not beautiful.
This will go along way in shaping their lifestyles and self-esteem. We should not make kids to start thinking that they are not beautiful.
Such beauty contests should be left for adults who understands that there is always a winner and a loser in every competition and by losing does not mean that someone is necessary ugly or less beautiful.
Unlike the kids, the adults also understand that by winning, one should not now look down upon her competitors.
