A row is brewing in Nyamira County after the deputy Governor Amos Nyaribo accused his boss Governor John Nyagarama of not consulting him in the latest Cabinet reshuffle.
But deputy governors are only regarded as 'flower girls' who only should only sit and watch as their masters work.
And now a county officer has accused the deputy governor saying he has no right to question what his boss (the governor) does as he is only mandated to act in his absence.
He was responding to the Mr Nyaribo's remarks on the latest reshuffle where said he was he never consulted since he was in the US for a two-week official tour.
Nyaribo termed the reshuffle by Nyagarama a 'sham and rumours' since he had not received any official communication from his boss's office.
"I have only learnt of the reshuffle through media and to me it's just rumours and until I receive official communication from Nyagarama, it remains to be a sham as I was away and so never consulted," said Nyaribo.
He said the officers implicated in corruption scandals needed to be replaced and not reshuffled and so there were no changes made.
And the officer reacted to Nyaribo' s sentiments saying he must not be consulted for any changes saying he was dragged into office.
He added that all the deputy governors should only sit and watch as the government is run by the elected governor.
"This deputy was only put to office courtesy of the governor's election and his is to act as a 'flower girl'. The deputies are accidents in office and should only deputise the governors when they are absent," said the officer.
"From Machakos, Kisumu, Kisii to Nyamira, the scenario is all the same," he added.
Nyaribo has on several occasions criticised the administration run by Nyagarama. There were claims he would go for the governor's seat in the next general election, remarks he has since denied.
