In the past two weeks Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has been a man under siege and immense pressure from different quarters to fire the county secretary Joseph Motari who is considered one of his close confidants.
Pressure started piling on Mbugua to send Motari packing immediately the county assembly passed and adopted a report which recommended his sacking.
Two weeks down the line Mbugua hasn't publicly commended on the issue nor has his government but the obvious is that he has not fired Motari.
According to politician Hezron Manyara , Mbugua's main problem is the circle of people around him and his advisers who he claims are misleading him into taking unpopular decisions.
Manyara argues that Mbugua's failure to fire Motari is driven by his fear of being implicated as well should he fire an officer who confessed that he was acting on instructions from his boss who is Mbugua.
Speaking during an Interview in Nakuru town, Manyara blamed Mbugua's advisers for the current political crisis piting the executive against the county assembly. "Mbugua is a person who will listen to you whenw we you meet him and tell him anything but the problem comes with implementation. The problem is the people who advise him because they always offer him the wrong advice,"said Manyara.
"There are two or three people who are very close to the governor and who the governor listens to and does whatever they say and those are the people causing all these problems you are seeing,"he added.
Mbugua has refused to send Motari home because he knows how he benefits from him,"said Manyara.
