Boniface Mwangi who contested for the Starehe parliamentary seat during the August 8 general election said on Friday that if the former prime minister is doing so because he is jobless, then he may be busy handshaking because he is bidding farewell to his supporters as he plans to retire from politics.

"Is Raila Odinga doing a farewell tour? Or he is jobless?" Mwangi asked on a twit he posted on Friday."All these handshakes are meaningless to the masses who believed in him. If the people who died, got wounded and lost property protesting on his behalf do not get justice, Raila will retire as a sellout."

Mwangi made the remark shortly after Raila met former President Mwai Kibaki at his Muthaiga residence accompanied by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi, and Kisumu Governor Prof Anyang Nyong'o.

It is not yet clear what the leaders discussed during the meeting.

The meeting took place days after Raila met former President Daniel Arap Moi at his Kabarak home in Rift Valley.

Raila has also met President Uhuru Kenyatta (March 9) as well as Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria and former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo.

The meeting between him and Uhuru took place at Harambee House while that with Kuria and Kabogo was at his Capitol Hill office.
