Acquiring a vehicle is dependent on several factors including maintenance cost, the purpose of the car, fuel cost and preference in taste. However, there are various cars in Nairobi that are considered the ugliest when it comes to its bodywork. 

Toyota Prius

This model was first made in 1997 and has undergone various changes in its bodywork. It has not yet established a stable market in Kenya compared to other Toyota cars due to its shape. 

Pruis’ hatchback is not appealing giving the car a raised ‘behind’ which makes the car lose its shape. However, California Air Resources Board (CARB) has ranked the car as the cleanest wagon in the USA based on smog-forming emissions.

Nissan AD

This a station wagon that was first made in 1982. It is a sister to Nissan Wingroad though the latter is a passengers’ car. 

The car has a slanting top that makes it look like a hybrid cows’ back. The car’s lights (head and tail lights) has the simplest designs that make it look uglier. Not even does its interior look good. Nissan AD is however prefeed due to its large boot that gives room for more luggage

Mahindra Bolero

This truck originates from India and it first hit the roads in 2000. It is a heavy pick up truck but unappealing to the eye. 

The pickup is designed in a hard body shape which it looks more serious than attractive on the road. It has an ugly finishing on bumpers with simple headlights. Its windshields area just fitted to ensure it completes a car. There is nothing fancy about having a Bolero.

Suzuki Alto

This is commonly known as ‘uber chap’. The 800cc ‘toy car’ which resembles a cage traces its origin in Japan. The Suzuki Alto has small wheels similar to those of a wheelbarrow. Its shape, however, makes it suitable for the taxi services other than for personal road trips. After all, no lady will date a guy who does such a ride.
