A report that was launched Monday has indicated that volunteer work helped the country make 236 million shillings of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
The Sh236 million translated to 3% of the GDP.
This report was made public by the Ministry of East African Community, Labour, and Social Protection at the NSSF building in Nairobi.
A study titled ''Measuring the Contribution of Volunteer Work on Kenya's Gross Domestic Product'' established that about 14 million Kenyans dabble in some sort of volunteer work.
The world will celebrate the International Volunteer Day today.
