Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has called on county governments to end infighting to ensure the success of devolution.
Speaking at Total Center in Nakuru in Kuresoi North Constituency during a fundraiser, Murkomen said that the senate being the guardian of devolution will not be used to rubber stamp impeachment of governors by MCAs who are out to settle political goals.
''For instance for the Makueni County, the Senate will not take sides but will instead act like a court of law so as to make an informed decision and it is by doing so that devolved governments will be able to deliver effective services,'' said Murkomen.
Murkomen also dismissed calls for referendum saying that it was a secret move by Cord to divert attention from development.
On the ICC cases, Murkomen expressed optimism that the three cases will collapse since it was evident that the prosecution does not have enough evidence to sustain the case.
His Kericho counterpart Charles Keter also echoed the same sentiments and at the same time challenged the Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto to come out clean and declare why he was so much determined to push for the Pesa Mashinani referendum if he was not a'' Cord mole''.
The two were were accompanied by 6 Mps from Rift Valley where they helped raise KSH 2.4Million in aid of 8 Churches in the area.
