[Manga police boss James Musyimi. Photo/Standard]Police officers in Manga, Nyamira County have launched a manhunt for suspects who on Tuesday attacked and injured an elderly woman.
According to Manga police boss James Musyimi, unknown people stormed the home of the victim, attacked her using pangas and other crude weapons.
Musyimi said the suspects have gone into hiding after they injured the victim leaving her for dead.
“The woman had deep cut injuries. She is currently recapturing at Nyamira County Referral Hospital. Police are hunting for the suspects to arrest and arraign them in court to be charged,” he said on Wednesday.
Musyimi urged members of the public not to take the law into their hands saying anyone found will be arrested and prosecuted.
“No one is above the law. In case of a disagreement, local government officers and police are available to solve the differences but taking a decision to kill someone is illegal and punishable by law,” he added.
