An armed robber on Monday night became the talk of the town after he invaded a house, but was met with an unprecedented surprise.
The robber armed with machetes on Monday night broke into the house of a man identified as Stano, one of the richest people in Lolwe.
Unfortunately for the robber, the resident was armed with a registered gun which he threatened to use on the invader.
“I was sleeping before the noise of someone screaming for help awakened me. The man shouted, ‘don’t shoot me’ several times,” said Ephiey who lives in a neighboring house.
According to Stano, the robber broke into his house and tried to intimidate his wife into giving him cash.
However, the moment he fired a shot in the air, the robber chickened out, and pleaded with him not to shoot.
The armed thief luckily escaped after jumping over the wall, leaving the residents who had started gathering outside the home with no option but to watch.
The residents who saw the robber claimed that he is likely to be a student at a local university in Kisumu.
Kondele police have already commenced a search for the robber.
