Former Kenya National Soccer team Harambee Stars number one goalkeeper Arnold Otieno Origi may soon join English Premier League (EPL) side Crystal Palace.

Reports indicate that the Kenyan born goal keeper, who recently acquired Norwegian Citizenship, has been at the home ground of Crystal Palace - Selhurst Park for trials.

Palace is coached by former England National soccer team coach Roy Hodgson. Currently, the 34 year old Origi is attached to Norwegian side Lillestrom FC.

According to capital sports, Norwegian website VG has reported that Lillestrom coach and Sporting Director have all confirmed that Origi will be leaving the club to join Palace or another English side.

“I think Arnold has played his last game for us. We wish him luck with his career. I hope he finds a club where he gets what he wants,” said Lillestrom head coach Arne Erlandsen.

Lillestrom sporting director Simon Mesfin said, “Arnold is not training with us because he has requested permission to work out with a club in England. He is there for an indefinite period.”

If the deal materializes, Arnold Origi will compete with current Crystal Palace first choice goal keeper Wayne Henessey and Julian Speroni for a first spot between the sticks.

He will become the third player with Kenyan roots to feature for an English top flight club, after Tottenham Hotspurs’ Victor Wanyama and Liverpool’s Divorck Okoth Origi.

Arnold Otieno Origi previously played for Kenya Premier League sides Mathare United FC and Tusker FC.
