Led by chairman Peter Ole Osono, they noted that disrupting the rally was uncalled for, and contravened Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula's right of holding a rally in any part of the country.

Ole Osono asked the police to investigate and bring the culprits to book, saying the chaos were uncalled for especially now that the country is gearing up for elections next year.

"It is so obvious that the chaos were planned because the whole process had been marred by some hitches brought about by a few individuals. Justice must prevail," said Ole Osono at the party's county headquarters in Nakuru town on Sunday.

The veteran politician further downplayed fears that the chaos risk dividing Cord, arguing that Wetangula was exercising his democratic right just like any other Cord principal.

"All our senior principals in Cord have an equal right of launching their presidential ambition awaiting one major final decision that will be made by National delegates. Cord is here to stay and will continue being stronger," he asserted.

Scores of people were injured including a police officer after goons invaded the rally just before the Bungoma Senator took to the podium.

Wetangula was launching his presidential bid at Muliro gardens in Kakamega, a rally that was was disrupted after chaos broke out.

So far, Kakamega county chief of staff who is also ODM Lugari sub-county chairperson Nabii Nabwera Daraja has been arrested in connection to the chaos.
