Vihiga Senator George Khaniri has warned the Jubilee government against harassing opposition leaders.
Speaking on Saturday during a burial ceremony attended by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, the lawmaker challenged the government to cease going in rounds and instead face the veteran politician.
"They should stop harassing us because we never participated in the oath-taking and instead gather courage and go for Odinga himself.
"Why should they trouble us just because we support the inauguration when the one who was sworn-in is just around? They should take the direct route and go for him," said Khaniri.
His comments were echoed by his Kakamega counterpart Cleophas Malala who maintained that the opposition leaders are ready to pay the ultimate price for opposing the government.
"We cannot be subject to threats from the state whenever we take a different stand. We will continue with our operations and recognition of Odinga as our leader and if that means we have to be arrested then so be it," said Malala.
The remarks by the two leaders comes at a time when a section of the National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders have found themselves on the receiving end after the state launched a crack down n leaders who participated in Odinga's inauguration.
