Those going door to door buying IDs for Sh500 have been given a stern warning by Governor William Kabogo.
Kabogo told Kiambu residents to arrest the individuals responsible who claim they have have been hired by him.
“I do not know for how long my opponents will play cheap politics. They have hired youths who are visiting homes and collecting IDs from other young people, claiming they are from the county government,” he said as reported by The Star.
The Governor further urged residents to inform local law enforcement if they have any knowledge regarding the perpetrators and believes that these individuals are out to spoil his reputation.
“When you come across them, arrest them and take them to chiefs or police. They are my opponents' agents...they recruited them, trained them and gave them money to do that dirty job," he said
Governor Kabogo is competing against Ferdinand Waititu who has also accused him of the election malpractice.
After losing the Jubilee ticket to Waititu earlier this year, Kabogo is running as an independent candidate as is hoping for a second term.
Ahead of the August 8 election, he told voters to elect visionary leaders.
