Security agencies have been asked to take stern actions against any attempts to swear in opposition leader Raila Odinga as president.

This is after several National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders threatened to hold a parallel swearing-in ceremony for Odinga should the Supreme Court uphold the reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta in the October 26 repeat poll.

Speaking in Eldoret on Monday, the Uasin Gishu Gospel Ministers chairman Bishop Wilson Kurui termed as unacceptable and illegal any plans to swear in as President any other person apart from the one duly elected by the people.

"Any person talking of swearing in somebody who has not been elected or threatening to overthrow the government should be arrested and face the full force of the law," said Bishop Kurui.

"Kenya is a democratic government and we should not allow few individuals to ruin our country's future because of their selfishness," he added.

The Jesus is Alive ministries leader further expressed opposition to calls for fresh elections in 90 days.

"We've done politics for a long time now; we need to allow Kenyans to go back to their normal activities of taking care of their families and contribute to the country's economic development," Bishop Kurui said.

NASA has maintained that they will not recognize reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta and they are pushing for another poll within 90 days.
