Police have been given an order to arrest two former senior managers at Chase Bank after they did not appear in court.

According to reports, Abdul Ahmed and Ghanrish Omar had been charged with attempted fraud worth more than Sh1.6 billion.

Their failure to appear in court prompted Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku to issue a warrant of arrest for the two managers.

Two former managers Amiran Claudia and Mohammed Khan submitted an application asking the court to allow them not to take a plea in the same case.

Magistrate Mutuku issued an order for their application to be addressed on September 7 before making a final decision.

According to reports, the former Chase Bank directors had been charged with conspiracy to defraud the bank of billions of shillings, leading to its collapse in 2015.
