Police officers in Kisii County have been asked to arrest anyone using social media to insult elected and nominated leaders.
Kisii County Executive for Sports and Culture Duke Mainga alleged that most youths across the county were fond of misusing social media sites especially Facebook and Whatsapp.
"A section of youths from Kisii don't use social media sites appropriately. Instead of using it in sharing rightful information and help improve lives they choose to spread propaganda," he said.
He called upon all the youths who have cleared school to form groups and borrow money from the youths fund.
"Young people should stop idling in villages. Under my leadership, I will ensure that we nurture all the talents and also help others start small businesses," said Mr Mainga.
He was speaking on Thursday evening at Kisii Sports Club.
