Property of unknown value was on Monday morning burnt to ashes after 3 unknown men broke into Machakos Primary School in Machakos county.

Confirming the unfortunate incident, Machakos DCIO Henry Ndombi stated the school watchman was tied and locked up during the incident.

"I was called by the OCS and informed that the schools' library and the deputy head teachers' office had been burnt down and the watchman who is a very old man had been tied and locked in the toilet," said Ndombi.

According to Machakos School head Boniface Muindi property of great value had been burned to ashes by the morning fire. 

"We have not yet gotten the exact worth of the property destroyed but the deputy's office, the library old books were also burnt totally," said Kimeu.

However, the area DCIO has confirmed launch of further investigations into the people behind the unfortunate acts.
