Davidson Mong’are, popularly known as Babu Gee has been staying in a Nyamira hotel over a week with an aim of getting his rewards from the county government.

Mong’are, who spoke to the reporter on Thursday, said the Governor had deliberately ignored his calls and text messages despite having agreed to give him a token.

“I did (song) it from the bottom of my heart and he loved it. He had promised to pay me but I am shocked that it was just but rhetoric and fallacy,” a disappointed Mong’are said.

“I have been staying in a hotel for a week now, (he stays in Nairobi) and I have used a lot of money. The governor is neither picking my calls nor responding to my text messages,” he lamented.

He however vowed to go back to Nairobi but insisted the incident will ‘kill’ morale of many upcoming talents in the music industry.

“We don’t do music to get money but some of us are doing it because of passion. It however disappoints when you’re promised something. I am not mad at anybody because life will go on. This is just but a way of killing raw talents,” he said.

Nyagaramaa would not be reached for immediate comment, but Personal Assistant Kefa Mocheche promised to ensure the artist is paid.

“I know that he did a song but Mzee (Nyagarama) is a bit busy. We cannot fail to pay someone after those good services. I am assuring him that all will be fixed,” he said.
