To what extent would love for something or someone take you?
Well, the answers are many. It is just on Tuesday that the whole world was treated to a plane hijack drama involving an Egyptair plane.
The hijacker among other reasons just wanted to deliver a four-page letter to his estranged Cypriot wife. In Thika, things were no different. This time round it was about two pineapples. Drama ensued near Gatuma-ini Primary School next to Mang'u matatu stage in Thika town when a construction worker accused one of his colleagues of stealing his two pineapples.
The accused got angry and demanded that the accuser 'withdraw' the accusation and 'apologise'.
However, the accuser stood to his words and maintained that the man had stolen his two pineapples and wanted him to give them back. It is at this juncture that the accused fell on the accuser and rained him with kicks and blows.
The accused was given a dog's beating literally hijacking colleagues', motorists' and pedestrians' minds who stood to watch from a distance. At the end of the drama the accuser perhaps regretted why he had to fight tooth and nail for just two pineapples.
After all, is Thika not the pineapple town where pineapples are cheap and readily available?
