The call by NASA on their supporters to boycott products from certain companies will backfire on them.

This is according to Elgeyo Marakwet governor Alex Tolgos.

The governor argued that apart from lowering the country's economic growth, the boycott would also take the biggest toll on poor Kenyans living in NASA strongholds.

“I am telling NASA to ask their supporters working in the listed companies to also boycott work if they are serious in this thing. I don’t think Safaricom asks people their political affiliation while recruiting staff,” he said.

The governor accused the opposition of pretending to be championing for human rights yet they were making moves aimed at sabotaging Kenya's economy.

“We have always known NASA as a defender of human rights and they are now doing the opposite,” he said.

“I am telling Raila that whatever he is doing will directly affect his supporters,” Tolgos warned.
