[Photo the-star]The outgoing Tiaty Member of Parliament Asman Kamama has said he is quitting politics.His move comes days after he failed to retain his seat in the just concluded August 8 polls.Kamama was ousted by a newcomer, William Kamket of KANU.Speaking during an interview with Nation on Tuesday, Kamama wished his successor all the best in his leadership. He further noted that he would focus on his businesses.“I wish Mr Kamket well in his leadership. I am exiting politics for good to join the business world and I do not want to interfere with Mr Kamket’s leadership," said the MP as quoted by the daily."My wish is they focus on education and the insecurity menace in the region,” he added.Kamama has been in politics for more than 15 years. He was first elected to the National Assemly in 2002 on a Ford-people tickect. In 2007, he was re-elected on a PNU ticket. He was again re-elected in 2013, this time round on a URP ticket.“I have been in politics for more than 15 years and it is now good that I focus on business but come 2022, Kamket’s team should expect stiff competition from someone in my team,” Kamama noted.The MP has also served as the National Assembly Security Committee chair in the 11th Parliament.
