Wanjiku Wakinuthia one of the five aspirants contesting for a slot in the Kabete seat through JAP said that the party should restore its political credibility by ensuring a fair and transparent preliminary elections.

Speaking yesterday at Wangige Trading Center during a church service, Wakinuthia said that corruption should not be dragged into the preliminary elections.

“I want to state categorically that the preliminary exercise should be devoid of corruption to instill confidence in the electorate,” said Wanjiku.

The Kabete seat fell vacant following the assassination of MP George Muchai. Wakinuthia urged Kabete residents to vote for her in order to 'complete' Muchai’s developments.

“I’m a youthful leader with a focused mind and I want to complete Muchai's developments. I will empower both youth and women to achieve their dreams,” said Wakinuthia.

She hailed the former MP's record of development and said that she would follow in his footsteps.
