Kitutu Chache South parliamentary hopeful Samuel Omwando has advised Kisii County residents to re-elect Governor James Ongwae in the 2017 general election.
Addressing the press in Kisii town, Omwando said Ongwae has initiated various projects in every part of the county and therefore deserves a second term to complete his development agenda.
Omwando at the same time accused Kisii Senator Chris Obure who is said to be among politicians eyeing the county top seat saying he has been in active politics for many years, and yet he has done little for the county residents and in Gusii region at large.
Omwando said those accusing Ongwae in matters development are fighting him politically, yet he has done much in the last three and half years he's been in power.
“There are rumours that the current Senator Chris Obure wants to vie for county governorship seat come 2017. I am advising residents to vote for Ongwae instead of the former,” said Omwando.
“I don't have personal differences with Obure, but he has done nothing in our county,” he added.
