These tournaments started late last year where each ward has had its own weekend for the tournament and the finals will be held on January 28 this year.

Kwakathule Fc humbled Monaco Fc from Kinyungu two goals to one in the East ward tournament which has held at Kwakathule ground last weekend.

Kawethei Fc emerged winners over Mukunike Fc scoring one goal to none in the West ward tournament held at Kawethei grounds. In the Central ward tournament held at DEB grounds, Kangundo Fc beat Maiuni Fc two goals to one while in North ward, Kikambuani Fc scored three goals versus Kanzalu Fc's one.

"The main reason we have been holding these tournaments in Kangundo is because we have realized a large number of youths may not vote because they are not yet registered," said Nzioka during one of the tournaments.

Mr Kituku believes it is a constitutional right of every citizen above 18 years to vote and therefore registration is vital, calling on all youth to come out and register.

Speaking to one of the players from Kikambuani Fc, Mr Wambua urged all youth to exercise their right to vote by registering as voters in the just beginning exercise.

In the voter registration exercise, IEBC targets to register a total of 195,135 new voters in Machakos County.

According to IEBC officials at Machakos town where the official launch took place, 222 BVR kits will be availed across different registration centres where we have a total of 875 registration centres in Machakos County.
