A Nyamira County gubernatorial aspirant Charles Mochama has yet again hit at Governor John Nyagarama's development record terming his performance as ‘mediocre'.
Governor Nyagarama on Wednesday highlighted a number of achievements ranging from healthcare, education and infrastructure alongside agriculture during the Madaraka Day celebrations.
But Mochama who spoke in his Kisii offices Thursday slammed the incumbent labelling him a ‘curse’ to the people of Nyamira.
“If you take a trip to the entire county, I want to assure you that there is nothing tangible Nyagarama has done to the people. I fail to understand where he takes the whopping amount of money we get from domestic revenue and the national government,” he said.
“His performance is pure mediocrity and I insist that he is a curse to our people. I will tell him that face to face because this is about the people. We haven’t seen any returns as a county in terms of development since 2013,” he said.
Mochama took another swipe at Nyagarama by sarcastically saying he is too old and asked residents not to elect him and other older candidates.
“Let the old people stay at home and wait for us to take care of them. There is no point we incur other expenses in buying wheel chairs for people who should go home by retiring peacefully,” he said.
