Nairobi ODM Women Representative aspirant, has revealed why president Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party, cancelled Friday primaries, in 21 counties.
Jane Nyaboke, who seeks to oust Rachael Shebesh, said Jubilee supporters countrywide had threatened to join the Opposition's Nasa coalition, if issues they had raised concerning nominations, would not be addressed.
"Aspirants and their supporters were tired of calling for ballot papers, yet the party was not doing anything. For example in the North Rift region, complaints started early in the morning but the secretariat dismissed them. What do you expect from such incidents?'' she posed, Saturday.
Speaking during Newspaper Review show on KTN News, Nyaboke said the aspirants and supporters thought Nasa would be the better option, since the party they had trusted, failed them.
"Jubilee cancelled the entire nomination exercise in fear of its members, defecting to Nasa. Nasa is the only option for them. This means Jubilee is very much afraid of Nasa due to its numbers,'' said the aspirant, who seeks ODM nomination ticket, ahead of August 8 polls.
Jubilee Party secretary general Raphael Tuju canceled the entire exercise, saying a new date for the primaries would be announced.
