Changamwe MP aspirant Peterson Mitau has said he will give MP Omar Mwinyi a run for his money in August.
Speaking after issuing bursaries to students, Mitau claimed that Mwinyi has done little to change the lives of residents since he took over power.
The MP hopeful cited cases in which different students had dropped out of school due to fee problems.
“This is evidence that the MP has failed. Some bright needy students have failed to join secondary school because of being neglected by Mwinyi. We are telling him to start packing,” said Mitau, as quoted by The Star.
Mitau assured residents that he will support them in different areas including education if he is elected.
“This is the first batch of my bursary support to my people. I will continue helping them once I get into Parliament,” he said.
Mitau, who is contesting for the third time after losing in 2007 and 2013, will be banking on the support of his Kamba community to clinch the seat in the August polls.
