A major legal battle is looming after a Jubilee Party aspirant in Kwale County threatened to move to court to challenge the party's decision to give direct nomination to a sitting MP.Benson Mutisya, who is eying the Lunga Lunga parliamentary seat on a Jubilee Party ticket, on Wednesday claimed he had already paid Sh250,000 for nomination and registration only for him to be short-changed after the Party issued the incumbent, Khatib Mwashetani, a direct ticket.“Besides paying the required fees, I have also spent huge amount to establish campaign networks on the ground,” said Mutisya, as quoted by KNA.Mutisya's claim comes barely a week after the Uhuru Kenyatta-led Party gave direct nominations to a group of aspirants in the county including Mwashetani and Women Representative Zainab Chidzuga.Mwashetani defected from Ford Kenya while Chidzuga ditched ODM.The party's decision has received major condemnation from aspirants who feel betrayed with Chidzuga's competitor for the party ticket Fatuma Tabwara forced to shop for a new political vehicle ahead of the August polls.With the Jubilee camp in Kwale already involved in sibling rivalry between Governor Salim Mvurya and Chidzuga, the new row over preferred candidates may pose another challenge in their bid to edge out the opposition in the race for numbers.
