The 2017 general elections have attracted leaders with different financial capabilities.

One of the Members of Assembly (MCA) aspirants from Kisumu has hit the headlines after it emerged that he is using handwritten posts to campaign ahead of the August polls.

Peter Ochieng has promised his fellow aspirants a run for their money in the Railways ward contest as he seeks to rise to power.

The father of five has expressed confidence that he will trounce all his opponents despite not having the ability to fund his campaigns.

According to the aspirant, what started as a joke will lead him into power come August.

"When I started this back in 2007, my wife and a number of my friends thought I was joking but after a while, they started believing in my quest to represent our people," said Ochieng, as quoted by Standard.

The confident legislator has confirmed that he will contest as an independent candidate as he looks forward to transforming the lives of the residents if elected to power.

"I will register as an independent candidate and I am currently trying to marshal people to help me raise some funds to help me with the quest," he added.
