A youth group from Esani in Nyamira has benefited from the ongoing early campaigns by a section of politicians ahead of 2017 polls.
On Sunday at Esani Primary School, Seth Omao, an aspirant for the Gesima Ward rep seat donated 30 shaving machines to Esani youth group that constitutes more than forty members in a colourful ceremony besides renting houses where the business will be done.
Omao, also a lecturer at the University of Kigali said the move is aimed at empowering the youthful population economically so that they avoid the dependency attitude.
“These machines are meant to help create alternative means of earning income. Rather than depending on their parents, the youths will now focus on improving the economy of the nation,” he said.
He asked group leaders to ensure they make savings so that to expand the business and employ other youths from the region.
“Let it not be that we are just making profits and failing to save some little cash. Savings will enable you expand your business and even create employment for others,” said the youthful aspirant.
