The assembly passed an adjournment motion that will enable them be at Mombasa for the conference that will be attended by all the MCAs across the country as well as the senators.

While moving the motion, Manga MCA Peter Maroro noted that it was important for the members to attend the conference in order to be able to jointly evaluate the progress of devolution.

"We are part of CAF and we need to attend this summit as I believe, as members, we will learn a lot especially on what other Assemblies are doing in respect to various aspects," said Maroro.

Nyamaiya MCA Laban Masire, while seconding the motion said the conference will provide them with a perfect opportunity to review their performance on their oversight and legislative mandate.

"We need to know whether we have effectively delivered our mandate so that we can improve on our performance for the sake of devolution and our people, and this can only be done if we are in this conference," said Masire.

The conference is scheduled to run from May 23-27. The house was adjourned until June.
