[Photo: Joe Khisa]The County Assembly of Uasin Gishu has approved names of 10 County Executive Committee Members that were appointed by Governor Jackson Mandago.This is after Members of the County Assembly adopted a report by the Committee on appointment which recommended that the nominees be approved.While moving the motion on the adoption of the report on Thursday, leader of majority Josphat Lowoi said there were no petitions filed by members of the public against all the CeC nominees."All the nominees went through a vigorous vetting process and members are satisfied that the they have all the required experience, skills and other needed qualifications to hold the posts they are nominated to," Lowoi said."It's my request therefore that this Assembly adopts this report without amendments," he added.Kaptagat MCA Jonathan Ng'etich seconded the motion saying all the nominees were competent individuals capable of delivering the county's development project.The CeCs who have been approved are Eng. Gideon Birir (Roads), Everlyne Rotich (Health), Joseph Kurgat (Education), Julious Ruto (Finance), Samuel Yego (Agriculture), Esther Mutai (Cooperatives and Enterprise Development), Eng. Nelson Maritin (Lands), Mary Njogu (Water and Environment), Barnabas Tarus (Devolution) and Dr. Emily Kogos in the ICT, Trade and Industrialization docket.After approval by the Assembly, names of the CeC nominees will now be forwarded back to the governor for formal appointment and their swearing in.
