County Assembly Chief Whip Charles Arahuka has called for political maturity among leaders across the county.

Speaking at Ndumberi grounds on Saturday during the celebration to mark Jamhuri day, Mr Arahuka said political maturity among politicians will promote cohesion and development.

Arahuka said political leaders must embrace the divergent views and opinions of others.

He stated that Kiambu County will advance economically if leaders support the government.

“As leaders, we have to exercise political maturity and give every one of us time and opportunity to express his or her views and opinions for the sake of development,” said Arahuka.

The chief whip also asked leaders in the county to shelve their differences and support the William Kabogo led government.

He said leaders in the county have a responsibility to come together to support development and champion peace.

The chief whip warned that political intolerance among leaders in the county will affect development.

Arahuka who is also the Gitaru Ward Representative  lauded the development projects being initiated by the Kiambu government.

He cited the empowerment of marginalised groups and infrastructure development saying they will help alleviate poverty and unemployment.
