Homa Bay County Assembly Committee on Public Accounts and Investment wants the county public service board to be disbanded, citing lack of professionalism and incompetence of the board members.
The committee, led by its chairman Mr. Julius Gaya, says the board as currently constituted does not reflect the will of the people of Homa Bay.
Mr. Gaya is urging Governor Cyprian Awiti to disband the entire board and constitute a new one.
Mr. Gaya lamented over the high wage bill the county government has recorded in the recent years due to massive corruption and nepotism in the board.
Speaking to journalists in Homa Bay Town on Tuesday, Mr. Gaya demanded the immediate resignation of the board over the increase in the number of ghost workers.
