The motion was tabled in the House on Wednesday by Public Administration Committee chairman James Mating’a who said county Youths, Sports and Gender ministry advertised 21 slots but instead it employed 55 staff, a move he noted was against the allocated budget.

“The ministry was supposed to employ 21 employees but we were surprised when it hired 55,” said Mating’a.

“The county budget was for only 21 employees and not 55, now they all have to go home,” he added.

According to Mating’a,  the staff have no option but to go home until a new advertisement is made.

A majority of the residents interviewed supported the decision by the House and called for transparency in employment.
