Speaking in Mombasa on Wednesday at the Kenya School of Government, Kosgey rubbished claims that the board is fighting the media, saying that was an imaginary war.

"There has been misconception and misinterpretation about the intentions of the Film Classification Board in the country. Some media houses have claimed the board has been targeting them. Nobody is interfering with their freedom as we are concerned about our society where moral values are being challenged," said Bishop Kosgey.

He said the government has no intention of gagging the media, adding that journalists are now enjoying more freedom, compared to the past.

He urged journalists to understand that a nation without moral obligations is a dead nation with no vision.

“Let the media personnel understand the fact that they can be victims of what we are protecting them from," he added.
