A Kwale administrator has found himself on the wrong side of the law for allegedly attempting to procure a Kenyan national identification card for a Somali citizen, Mohamed Bakari.
The assistant chief based at the Kiteje chief's camp was arraigned in court on Tuesday to face fraud charges before Mombasa resident magistrate Viola Yator.
"On 12/7/16, at Kiteje chief's camp, Mohamed Said Nyaume and others not before the court attempted to fraudulently issue a form to a Somali national contrary to the Births and Registrations of Persons Act," read the charges in part.
The assistant chief pleaded not guilty together with the son's alleged father, Mohammed Said Bakari Mwashembi.
