Youths in Nakuru have been urged to be vigilant even as we head to the general election and avoid engaging in crime.
Speaking on Saturday at Kiratina Deliverance church in Lanet Division during a community forum, the Assistant Commissioner Lydia Mwatata said residents have a responsibility to know what is happening around them.
"The President has been critical that security begins with an individual, and mine is to reitariate the same that we all have a responsibility to ensure security," said Mwatata.
She urged residents to make good use of public offices occupied by duty bearers. According to the administration officer, most residents still have the phobia to seek information from this offices.
"May I also remind you that you have a responsibility to ensure you visit these offices to get crucial information," she added.
Still on matters of security, the assistant county commissioner called on residents and especially youths who don't have national Identification cards to ensure that they register to get them as directed by the Government.
She said the government will facilitate a campaign on the same and urged Nakuru residents who don't have National IDs to make use of the opportunity.
She was speaking in a community forum organized by Sauti Yetu Initiative.
