The ongoing KCSE examinations have so far been successful in Athi River sub-county despite heavy rains, says area deputy county commissioner Geoffrey Omoding’.
Omoding’ said the vehicles provided by the government to transport examinations, invigilators, supervisors, security officers and other officials to examination centres were managing the tough conditions posed by the rains.
He said they were administering the exams to schools in time apart from some of those in Joska area where there were delays of at most one hour due to over flooding.
Omoding’ spoke to this writer in his office on Friday.
“All of those involved in this exercise have been committed to ensure efficiency in the examinations delivery,” said Omoding’.
Omoding’ said all report to her offices where the Kenya National Examination Council’s container holding the papers is located early in the morning on daily basis to avoid any delays.
He said no cases of examinations’ irregularities had been reported in the region since they started.
Omoding’ said all involved in the exercise should be disciplined and operate within guidelines provided for the examinations administration.
He warned that those caught engaging in examinations irregularities will be dealt with according to provisions of the law.
“Let all be warned that we will not defend anybody found engaging in examinations irregularities,” said Omoding’.
Omoding’ said residents living in flood prone areas should vacate to safe grounds to prevent loss of lives and property.
