Athi River police have been lauded for hastening security during the Christmas holidays.
Muthwani MCA George Kingori said the officers effectively secured the residents and their properties during the entire festive season.
“I want to thank our police officers for protecting residents and their property during the Christmas holidays, we did not hear much of criminal activities. Congratulations,” said Kingori.
Kingori spoke to this writer on the phone on Monday.
He said a majority of the residents found their houses and properties safe after returning from their respective villages for the festive season.
“This is encouraging, the majority of the residents left their houses and homes under lock and key and found all their property intact,” said Kingori.
The County legislature extended his thanks to Athi River deputy county commissioner Geoffrey Omoding for keeping his promise of securing residents during the holidays.
“I thank Omoding for keeping his word, he had promised the residents enhanced security and that their property would be safe even if they travel to their respective homes across the country for Christmas holiday,” said Kingori.
Kingori said there were police patrols everywhere across Athi River Sub County.
He urged the residents to embrace and support police officers to enable them to serve locals better.
Kingori said police officers’ terms and conditions of work should be looked into by the national government as a way of motivation and improve their living standards.
